Phil Golotta, Lead Singer of Legendary Victorian Show Group “The Blue Echoes”, wrote “I Say No” because of the fact that in 2016, some 26 prominent Australian singers and musicians passed away in that year.
It made Phil ask the question, “Why can’t we live forever?”, Because when we go, we leave behind saddened family members and friends and all the knowledge and experience that we gained.
So Phil Decided, he’s not going, hence the song and it’s title.
