Kayla Mahon and Simon Thompson are southern New Zealand based singer-songwriters and musicians who have been performing country music over 3 decades. This powerhouse Duo has been working together in the past year to develop a fresh country duo sound and have set foot into the recording studio 2024! Both award winning artists, Simon, Southland Entertainer of the year 2015 has been acclaimed as NZ’s “Chris Stapleton” with jaw dropping guitar skills. Kayla has had a long solo career, winning New Zealand Overall Gold Guitar Award, and top 24 on the globally recognised XFACTOR NZ in 2015. Kayla has recently released her debut solo album recorded in Nashville. Her new album “Right on the Money” has been added to Caffeine and Aussie Country Apple Playlists.

“Hell of a Crime” is their debut single, a story that is a Smokey look between destined lovers irrevocably chained together in love. Kayla wrote this energetic, rocky number with Nashville penned songwriter Ryan Sorestad.
