Paulie Paul Hudnott – Diesel Smoke

Diesel Smoke is about my truck which I clocked up many miles in it on the highway from Geraldton to Perth 7 days a week.

I was sitting on the back porch in the hills at Perth and watching the lights of the city and the planes coming into land at the airport and wrote Fondest Memories which started out different to how it ended up today.

Billy Higginson encouraged and supported my original songs which gave me confidence and I came first at the last Nambung Music Muster last year for my original song writing.

The palm tree on the back cover was planted on the farm by my wife’s great aunty when she was young and still stands today on the farm and is the lonely palm tree which I sing about in Long Time Ago.

I have just finished and released my album New Life on the Land. I was lucky enough to work with Mark Donohoe (Magnificent 7 and The Frames) Apollo 10 Studio who produced and played on the album and had Chris Murphy and Ian Simpson (Slim Dusty Banjo player) also play on it. This Album is called New Life on the Land and has 7 of my original songs on it.
