Sisters In Country – Shotgun Love

This single comes on the eve of the Sisters in Country debut album set for release in May.

Jodi Says “This song began with an old saying, ‘You never know what’s around the bend’. That, for some reason, came to me from out of the blue. I wonder sometimes, when these thoughts come through, if they are messages from beyond.

I remember sitting down at my keyboard and going with it, adding chords as the lyrics came to mind. I was probably single at the time. LOL Anyway I wrote the song roughly about 10 – 15 years ago, did a demo and forgot it, as life carried on.

Half way through 2023 I just happened to be going through my I-Pad cleaning up, when I came upon this untitled song. When I heard it I immediately thought .. WOW, when did I write this? The demo was simply keyboards and a vocal and did not sound country at all. I decided to let Aly hear it. She thought it was a good song for ‘Sisters’, and so it began.

We decided, obviously, on a good country sound with banjo and pedal steel and to give it ‘Sisters in Country’ authentic sound we added our harmonies.  Job done !!  Little did I know at the same time Aly’s creative mind was working over time coming up with a video theme. We decided on an Old Time Western Theme with ‘Sisters in Country’ as Bar Room Girls.

So with our very own green screen, with Aly the director and producer, our video was created. She had us both doing all sorts of fun things as we did our best to recreate old western times. This song has gone from a simple demo with voice and keyboard to a full on country song perfect for ‘Sisters in Country.’”
