Cathy Dobson ft. Angus Gill – Aloysius
I had on my songwriter “to do list” a song with a man’s name. “Aloysius” (Al-a-wishus) Jeremiah Johnson Jones was a name that flowed so well. “Aloysius” is another story from “Sundowner Drive”.
It’s a tale of a holiday romance that began at the Sundowner Holiday Park one Summer.
First love can be so idealised and one that can never happen again as a first love. Looking back the romance seems to be the best love ever. Can it be rekindled years later? Can you find each other again?
Today we can keep in touch through social media, but 40-50 years ago those holiday romances were often fleeting, unless you kept in contact through written letters.
We were left to wonder “what if?”….
The song began with the name “Aloysius Jeremiah Johnson Jones” and Angus and I worked through the story together.
