Graham Scobie – Stand To Intention

Stand to Intention deals with Graham’s experience of the bushfires on the south coast of NSW during the summer of 2019/2020.
As a member of the Mogendoura Rural Fire Service brigade just outside Moruya, Graham fought fires from late November 2019 to 23 Jan 2020 when the Clyde Mountain Fire consumed the farm that he shares with his wife, Michelle.

The song contains elements of Aboriginal cultural burning, climate change and political inaction as the Royal Commission has clearly indicated that the lack of hazard reduction burning during the winter was a major factor in the scale of the devastation including the loss of lives and property.

Graham is a member of the Country Pumpkins Band with his wife, Michelle, on bass and vocals, Chris Curtis on guitar and Daniel Ostrosko on drums.
