Stets Strohfeld – Karumba At Sundown

“Karumba At Sundown” is a song about a little sea-side community in “The Gulf of Carpentaria” in Far North Queensland.
Karumba is a small community of around 600 residents, who’s livelihood relies on Fishing and Tourism to enable their own unique
Way of life. Prawn Trawlers, and Fishing Charter vessels, occupy the main source of income in this very remote and isolated part of our beautiful
Country known as Australia.

Along with the very friendly Locals, there are some other locals that are not quite as friendly. Salt Water Crocs inhabit the waters of the far north,
In huge numbers, as do, one of Australia’s most sought after Game and Table Fish, “The Barramundi”.

Karumba is steeped in Traditional History, and I pay respect to all of The Custodians and Traditional Owners of this unique piece of Paradise
Nestled in The Gulf of Carpentaria.
