Anne Fraser – Farm Lights

‘Farm Lights’ tells a story of a farmer reflecting on his memories, thinking back on the days when he worked the family farm. A life of hard work, love and dedication will never leave his memory as he contemplates the early days. Memories of dust and hot sun and then at the end of the day standing at the top of the hill looking down to the old house, where he dwelled with his family in a circle of love.

My inspiration for this song comes from my parents and their parents who worked the land in the Flinders Ranges and then spent many years share farming after the family farm was sold. I remember stories of darkened hallways in the war days and walking at night with candles, often trying to scare a sibling or two as they made their way to bed!

The love of the land remains buried deep in the heart…..
