Michael started writing poetry the night Steve Irwin sadly passed away.
Following the country music scene for many years spruiking poetry, Michael decided to put poetry into songs..

Picking up a guitar in the last few years he learnt some chords and found some rhythm in his bones..

His first release, ‘Two Up’ won a Dusty Boot in 2023 for songwriting..

Kookaburra Cackler came about as a poem written at the Deni Ute Muster while visiting the Black Dog Institute mobile van there.. and hearing their message..

But rather than going to a doctor and getting drugs to help, which some do need to do. Michael expresses his own way of dealing with The Black Dog thru song..

Being a country kid, Michael knows full well the devastating effects depression has on farmers and rural people in general.. This song is his contribution to combating depression thru country music..
