Keely Ellen – Cowboys Can’t Outrun
“Cowboys Can’t Outrun” was co-written over Zoom a couple of years ago, began with a striking lyric that Keely had penned: ‘wildflowers can’t be tamed by picket fences’. This poignant line became the foundation for Cowboys Can’t Outrun, a song about a country boy known for being trouble and the singer telling him two can play that game.
Hearing her songs on the radio and playing at festivals are among Keely’s aspirations.
“I want more people to hear my music and enjoy it,” she said.
Keely regularly performs gigs in the Bundaberg area, and also has Country on Keppel on July 12-14 after winning the Green Brothers Peter Blundell Memorial Talent Search last year, she is a finalist in the Gympie Music Muster Talent Search Junior Section, and will be attending the Gympie Song Muster in June and the SHE Songwriting Retreat on Great Keppel Island in July which is dedicated to empowering female Australian songwriters.
There are sure to be many more songs to come from this aspiring singer-songwriter.
