Anne Fraser – Heart of Texas

As a teenager I started listening to American country music and always felt like I had some sort of connection to it, it just sat right with me. In February 2024 I was nominated for the Texas Sounds International Sounds Awards and it took a while for it all to sink in! I didn’t know how I was going to manage it but I knew in my heart that I had to go.

To be recognised by the very place that true American country music first came to life is an absolute honour. So the plans began! I started to think about what I wanted to give back to the people there that have been so accommodating for me, I wanted to leave them with something that showed my appreciation and love for their country.

Preston Taylor manages the event and he is a wonderful gentleman, I am very lucky to have made such a friend. I reached out to my dear friend Kath Stewart and David and Merelyn Carter for some co writing and they were all very supportive and keen to get his one out! We spent a night over zoom and had an absolute ball with the lyrics and melody.

I took the song in demo form to Matt Williams who has produced my recent singles and we got to work. It is the largest production we have done so far and I am absolutely in awe of his work.

To have this song released in Texas and then here in Australia is so rewarding, I have a strong belief in my journey to the USA, a knowing that something wonderful will come from this.

The support that I have received from Star Central, Blue Shamrock Music and CRS Publicity is greatly appreciated, I feel like I am part of a beautiful big family. My heart is full of gratitude for my opportunities and the help I have been given. Full like the Heart of Texas.
