ETC (The Ed Taylor Collection) – M&C Shuffle Ft. James Ray

The ‘ETC’ (Ed Taylor Collective) is an Auckland-based Americana / Country group created by guitarist Ed Taylor in 2020.

The brand new single ‘The M&C Shuffle’ was written by Ed Taylor, performed by the E.T.C (Ed Taylor Collective) featuring James Ray. The video stars the M&C line dancers at the Howick RSA in N.Z. led by Merylin and Catherine and the video were created by Kari and Nataly.

“The ‘M&C Shuffle’ is a country line-dancing song which I wrote and recorded at the beginning of 2020. The song came about after playing in a duo at the Howick RSA, in Auckland for a line-dancing crew called M&C Line dancing. The name refers to Merylin and Catherine (M&C) who run the group and teach regular classes.”

For the recording I used an awesome lineup of musicians including Nick Jones (violin, piano), Hayden Wharewaka (drums), Tom Dennison (bass), Kylie Austin (backing vocals), while I played guitars and harmonica. The lead vocal was performed by my American cowboy friend, James Ray.
