Jake Murdoch aka Jakeycakes – Mr Cakes Got The Blues
This song was inspired by my love of Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters.
On this track I play slide guitar, rhythm guitar, bass, harmonica and lead vocals.
The song uses Mr Cakes from the name Jakeycakes and thought that sounded cool. Caleb Flanders who produced Free Spirited Baby used to call me Mr Cakes.
Because I am so young it can be hard for people to take me seriously and that is what some of the lyrics are about.
I want to show the world that I am an up and coming musician and after the EP release will be known as Jake Murdoch.
I Like to perform a cool solo in each of my songs
“I went home to diffuse” is my favourite line. A modern twist for a blues song.
