Lynchburg – Youngie
Youngie is the fourth single from Lynchburg’s acclaimed debut album How Country Do You Want It and the first to feature the vocals of Lindsay Waddington.
“With the first 3 singles going Top10 and 2 going to Number 1 … the pressure’s really on this one” (Waddo)
“It was a no brainer … Youngie is our tribute to the great Brian Young. Waddo left school at 15 to go on tour with Youngie … it’s his story too.” (Caswell)
Youngie is an important song to Lynchburg. Brian Young was Waddo’s mentor and the bloke who got him started in a successful music career. He was also the first major country artist to record an Allan Caswell song.
As a songwriting team Waddo and Cas write songs with and for some other top country artists but some songs just say Lynchburg … Youngie is one of them.
“Waddo is very underrated as a singer (usually by himself) but we dragged him into the vocal booth … and he nailed it”
