Peter Coad OAM – 1942

“This is a song I wrote in memory of the 1st of a series of raids, the Japanese made on Darwin 80 years ago. There are still many historic reminders from war time Darwin in the Northern Territory.

Over the years, I have spoken to people who were soldiers stationed there at that time and as it is 80 years (in 2022) since the first attack we give thanks to those who stepped up and kept Australia safe in a time of great conflict.

I felt inspired to jot down the words and my sister Virginia put music to them and Coad Sisters did the backing for the song.

My thanks to everyone for your support of my music.”
