About Jake Murdoch aka Jakeycakes

Jake Murdoch is a Multi-Instrumentalist hailing from Queensland. He plays Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Slide Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano, Drums, Stompbox and performs Lead and Backing Vocals.

Incredibly mature for his young age, he is a very relaxed performer, extremely consistent with high stamina. He is a singer/songwriter/producer and composes his own originals. Jake also performs 150+ covers ranging from 40’s to current.

His influences are the Traveling Wilburys, JJ Cale, Johnny Cash, Elvis, ZZ Top, The Beatles, Dire Straits, Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens. His goals are to perform LIVE at festivals and music venues.
Jake was the resident busker for Dicko’s Country Spit Roast at NightQuarter.
Jake placed 3rd in the Australian National Busking Championships and he has also been chosen to perform on the main stage at the VDM Festival in the Busking Competition Oct, 2021.

He has set up his own home studio and continues to compose, write, perform and produce his original music.

Jake’s mentors are Vicky O’Keefe (Daughter of legendary Johnny O’Keefe) and Robbie James (GANGgajang) and Producer/Slide Guitarist Michael Flanders.
Jake has been interviewed nationwide on radio, Fairfax and music magazines.
