John O’Dea – Bob The Railway Dog
Bob The Railway Dog is the latest single to be released from Johns highly acclaimed “A Dream and A Song” album.
It’s the true story of a scruffy little dog with a crooked grin who was caught on Hindley Street in Adelaide. Bob along with many other dogs was loaded up in a railway carriage to be sent to the upper north of South Australia to hunt rabbits during the rabbit plague in the late 1800s.
A railway man spotted him at the Terowie Railway Station, adopted him and so Bob began his journey travelling on the trains around S.A. and interstate until he died. The railway men loved him.
It’s an amazing story now etched in Railway history.
John will also be releasing an animated video on You-Tube of the song. How this video came to be is also an amazing story, check it out his YouTube channel John O’Dea Music.
