The Woodpickers – King Billy’s Mandolin
A new song from The Woodpickers Australia,
King Billy’s Mandolin.
King William Pine, from Tasmania, is regarded
as one of the finest timbers for
musical instrument soundboards.
Thankfully, today, it is a protected species.
Only trees that naturally fall may be harvested.
The tree is named after William Lanne,
better known as King Billy,
the third husband of Queen Truganini.
They were two of the few survivors of the sad,
bitter conflict between white settlers
and native Australians in the 1800’s.
King William Pine is a proud living monument.
This song once again features the magic voice of Snez.
