Amber Joy Poulton – Ruby’s Reply

Ruby’s Reply it’s about a very strong woman, who fought for her name even when she was kicked down by the man she loved & by the people around her, she still stood her ground. She made people sit up & listen to her side of a pretty sad story of assumption and trial by gossip.

Ruby probably didn’t take her love to town as Kenny Rogers sang, but she probably should have. It’s fiction of course, but to me Ruby is real & is in many of us. Listen to the words, relate them back to Kenny Roger’s “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love To Town” & then make up your own mind.

What would you do if you were Ruby?.

Pre-covid Amber Joy Poulton recorded an album, Pretty Pennies, full of songs that are undoubtably Golden Guitar worthy, but of course, who was to know that covid was about to happen. Where Amber Joy would normally tour the country singing all these new songs & selling albums there was nothing but crickets.

These songs still haven’t had their moment & it’s about time that Ruby got to tell her side of the story.
