Tracy Coster Ft. Pete Denahy – An Eastbound Train

I was raised in country music. My Dad was my hero and my best friend.
It just so happens that he was also an extraordinary songwriter with a deep love for the Australian bush.
He was never a fan of love songs, so it was a great surprise to me when a few years ago I stumbled across a Manilla folder containing his secret songs (penned in the late 50’s) full of lyrics all about love and loss.
I quickly set about choosing the ones I thought would be best to put a tune to and “An Eastbound Train” was the first song I started to work on.

“Tis the story of a girl from the city who falls in love with a boy from the bush, she moves to the outback to be with him but soon learns his love of the land is equal if not greater to his love for her.

“I long for the city- and I’m part of these plains” That’s why I’m leaving on an Eastbound Train”

Pete Denahy joins me on this track and lends his unique vocal style and musicianship to the track.

So we give you the very first Bush Ballad/ Bluegrass hybrid. An EASTBOUND Train.
