This is Aboriginal Country” is a 10 song CD of original songs by Jeff Aschmann.  The songs reflect Jeff’s lengthy observations within remote aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory, Australia while working as a schoolteacher for the Northern Territory Department of Education.

1) Fires burning by the oceanside, smell the smoke with the rising tide

Children running across the sand, fishing boats approaching land.

2) People catching fish for their family casting their nets to the shining sea

Old man gathering firewood,

soon there will be fish to cook.

Families now they gather on the sand it’s just another day in Arnhem land.
