Sandy is the regional coordinator in Newcastle with The Australian Songwriters Association and runs open mics for songwriters.

Sandy has attended the Australian Songwriters Association annual awards with 5 of her original songs in the top 30 across 5 categories. Sandy received  3rd place in the ballad section for ‘Make Up Your Mind’ and received a nomination in the Rudy Brandsma  excellence in songwriting award.
